One Of The World’s Best Selling DAC’s?
There are three very good reasons for that...
We are proud of the AU-D3-192. Having sold in excess of 100k pieces, it is still going strong and is one of the world’s best-selling DACs (Digital to Analogue Converters). So why is it so popular? Here are just three reasons why we believe the diminutively packaged AU-D3-192 offers class-leading Hi-Fi performance and incredible value for money:
Anyone who knows digital audio technology will be aware of the chip manufacture Burr Brown. As used by many of the leading high-end audio companies, the DAC engine of the AU-D3-192 incorporates Burr Brown chipsets. If it is good enough for products costing thousands of pounds, it is good enough for CYP!
Our ears are highly-tuned to hear the nuances in both recorded music and the natural world. That being the case, you would expect them to have a very low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), which they do at only THD+N 0.1% (-60db). The AU-D3-192 exceeds this by 20 times, with a THD+N reading of only 0.005% (-86db). So if your hearing is up to it, the AU-D3-192 will deliver it.
Poorly designed DACs have a considerable amount of digital noise, which manifests as distortion. As shown here, the AU-D3-192 has a considerably lower noise than competing DACs, resulting in significantly lower distortion and, therefore, superior performance.
So there are the facts and we would suggest that if you haven’t already, you really ought to try one. After all, over 100,000 others already have!
